Phobia

Phobia — an uncontrollable fear, excessive anxiety toward certain objects, situations, or conditions. Fear itself is a useful emotion, without which the instinct for self-preservation would simply not exist. However, a phobia can greatly complicate life, depending on its manifestation and triggers. It defies logical explanation and is barely controlled by consciousness. Phobias usually appear after significant negative events that impact a person's psyche. Generally, the earlier they appear, the stronger their influence.

Each phobia manifests in its own way. Some make eyes water, others make one want to hide in a corner, and some cause hysteria. This also depends on the person’s character and mental health. Just imagine that when a person and those around them are on the brink of life and death, someone might panic and cause even greater chaos. What if they start waving a knife around or screaming like a madman, attracting enemies’ attention or even disturbing others' sleep? At such moments, it's difficult to decide who poses the lesser threat, as it’s crucial to stay calm.

Nevertheless, psychologists and psychiatrists can help address this issue, and sometimes an ordinary person, who can be allowed into one’s mind, can alleviate the trauma.
